Superstar Rajinikanth is "fine" and "doing well", his wife and doctor announced outside a Chennai hospital on Thursday as legions of ardent fans prayed for his recovery. The actor is still in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Sri Ramachandra hospital but there is no reason to worry, said wife Latha R ajinikanth. "He is fine. It was an infection that has created an imbalance. He has been moved to ICU only to give more protection and give proper treatment because it's a sterile area," she said. "He is fine now."

The 58th National Film Awards 2011 announced on Thursday.
There were two technical awards for the film -- while Kamod Karade won best audiography location sound recordist, Debajit Changmai was named best re-recordist of the final mixed track.
Salman Khan starrer blockbuster movie 'Dabangg' bagged the National Awards for 'Wholesome entertainer movie of the Year'.
The National Award for best actor will be shared by Tamil cinema's Dhanush and Malayalam actor Salim Kumar for their work in "Aadukalam" and "Adaminde Makan Abu", respectively.

South Indian superstar Rajinikanth, who has more than 100 Tamil films to his credit, was shifted Wednesday night to the intensive care unit of a Chennai hospital, according to a bulletin issued by the hospital. Mr. Rajinikanth was first admitted at Chennai's Sri Ramachandra Medical Center last Friday for respiratory and gastro-intestinal problems. "To improve his breathing pattern he has been shifted to the intensive care unit and now he is showing positive response to the treatment," the bulletin said. The bulletin added that a team of doctors with different areas of expertise has been appointed to "closely watch" the actor's vital parameters. According to news reports, the actor had been put on dialysis, a treatment used for kidney malfunction, two days after he underwent a procedure to drain fluids from his lungs. A spokesman for the hospital declined to comment on the matter on Thursday. "Rajinikanth is undergoing treatment in the [intensive care unit] and all his vital parameters are responding well," was all T.G Nallamuthu, the spokesman for the hospital said.
